Leggings. Who doesn't constantly wear a pair of leggings? The Sew Simple Leggings by So Sew Easy is a great beginner pattern with only one pattern piece! That means no side seams and a smoother final product. There are infinite ways to wear leggings, of course. We love them for exercising with a racerback tank. In the winter we cozy up in a pair of leggings and an oversized sweater. Wear these puppies under your ski pants, under your favorite knit dress or with a tunic and boots. This will be a wardrobe addition you'll likely be wearing every week.

Additional Notes

This 29-page PDF pattern includes all pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions with photos. Two yards of fabric will suffice for all sizes.

These are easy peasy! I should have taken Amanda's review more to heart. I shortened the rise by 3" on my pair and it was a bit much for my tush, 2" would have been perfect.

I've made this pattern twice now and both times have turned out differently depending on the fabric I used. I went up two sizes for this pattern even though I normally wear a small because 1) this fabric had less stretch and 2) the first pair I made in size small were a bit too tight. I don't love the muffin top look. ;)

For this pair, I shortened the waist area and also the length of the leggings, and in doing so, I made them too short to hem properly or put the elastic in a fold-over waistband. But I was able to do a faced hem and could attach a waistband section separately if I wanted. This pattern is very easy, but do be careful with sizing related to the fabric you're using and the stretch it has.

The additional video explaining where to measure was great for customizing fit.

I am a beginner sewer and these leggings are very easy to make! The waist line is a little higher than I like, but I took it down about 2 inches and it was perfect!
