What's better than a comfy knit dress? Not much, but a plethora of options certainly sweeten the deal, and this pattern is loaded with them. The Out and About Dress Pattern by Sew Caroline gives you two length options so that you can make a maxi or knee length version. Two sleeve length options (long or elbow) and an optional sleeve cuff make this one of the most versatile knit patterns we've seen yet! Style this dress down with leggings and a cozy scarf for a relaxing evening in or dress it up with boots and a leather jacket for a night on the town!

The knee-length dress pictured above was created by Erin from Sewbon. The fabric for the maxi-length dress pictured above is available at Imagine Gnats.

Great pattern! The fit and instructions are perfect.

Really easy to follow!

So cute and comfy, and overall a well done and easy to follow pattern. My second-ever knit project and I felt well taken care of--I am itching to make another one! I would echo other complaints about the fit, I had to take in the side seams pretty substantially to achieve what I would consider the advertised "loosely fitted" style. Next time I will size down and omit the pockets as they cling to my tights and add unflattering bulk.

Very clear instructions snd easy to sew! The pockets are a bit low- they are hard to reach my hands into...but other than that- GREAT!

The largest size available with this pattern is an XX Large (40.5-35-45) so I sized the pattern up one size to 42.5-37-47, which worked well. The waistline seems to fall a bit too low on my torso so next time I will likely remove an inch or so from the bodice pieces. Otherwise, it's a fun pattern that I will be making more of! Great with heels and a blazer for the office or flats and a jean jacket for everyday!

If you have more sewing experience, I recommend stabilizing the waist and shoulder seams.

A little tricky but it was my first item of clothing!

4-8 is a pretty large range of sizes, so I shouldn't be surprised that the medium came out a little large for me (I'm usually a size 4 in RTW, but my measurements fit the M in the size chart). Next time I will size down slightly. Otherwise I love this pattern!

This is a great pattern! Caroline does an amazing job with the directions!
