Additional Notes

This pattern includes step-by-step instructions with illustrations.

I absolutely love my Grainline Maritimes! I've made this pattern 3 times now, and it's the only shorts pattern I need. The pieces all fit together perfectly, the drafting is impeccable and the instructions are easy to follow. I love the curved waistband, the fly front and the four pockets. The couple of times that I got lost following the instructions, I looked up the sewalong on the blog for a better idea of what the next step was.

I do have to say that I find the front pockets too big (they bunch up when I wear the shorts), but it was easy to shorten the pockets on my second and third pairs. I love the perfect fit through the waistband and the rise, as well as the looser fit around my legs.
