The Saltbox sewing pattern by Blueprints for Sewing is the perfect shirt to sew for hot summer weather. This top, in tee or tank style, was inspired by the Saltbox house typical of New England in the 18th century known for its asymmetrical roof. This pattern features a tank top with side vents and a bias-tape-finished neckline in addition to a short sleeved tee also with side vents and a faced neckline. Sew your own in a double gauze for a light-weight casual tank that will be perfect in the heat of summer.

Additional Notes

This PDF includes all pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions with illustrations.

Great for a beginner! It's my first time using rayon and it was a great choice for this pattern. I one minor typo regarding the back right section. It says to sew the back right, then the back right, but they obviously mean back left the second time. It's a pain to put the pattern together as a PDF, which is why I will be making several, to make it worth all that time! Plus I love the pattern of course.

The pattern came together very nicely! The linen that I used was a little shifty but everything else came together well.
