Yellow Boxes Skirt
This was my first go at the Sew DIY Nita Wrap Skirt pattern but I'm sure it won't be my last. There's a lot of things I like about this skirt, although some things didn't turn out as I'd like. I made this up in a super-cheap medium-weight cotton fabric from Ikea. I really like this design, but I do feel that the print is a little large for this skirt length. I'd intended to make this version come to just below the knee, but misjudged the length based on the pattern pieces - rookie error, I'm sure!
I found the pattern a nice easy sew and the result is very comfortable to wear. I think for future summer versions I'd use the modesty panel piece for the front though - the split (which is only significant when one sits down) would be fine with stockings on, but I'm a little uncomfortable about showing that much bare leg.
Size 18 in the waist, grading down to 14 in the hips.
