Sleeveless Linen and Kimono Silk Dove Fitted T
I haven’t been drawn to linen before and was apprehensive about it’s wobbly nature and ability to crease at the drop of the hat but the results are so good – linen is just so perfect in the heat that I feel like crying ‘where have you been all my life??’ to this top whenever I wear it.
I paired the linen with a beautiful and unique kimono silk which proved to be a challenge as it's width was only 35cm (approx 13") and the pattern repeats were offset. To do both unique materials justice I spent time in binding raw edges, French seams and catch stitching the hem (one of my favourite hand sewing stitches) to create a beautiful garment inside and out. If you want to know more about the process check out the blog post for full details of the finishing techniques I used to create this beautiful garment!
