Short Sleeve V-Neck
I decided to make a sporty version of the Union St Tee for hiking, running and working out. I used 100% polyester with lots of stretch. The v-neck took a few tries to master since I have never sewn one before, but the instructions in the pattern are very good so it made it easier! In all my trials, I found that I prefer a double stitch over a zigzag for the neckline topstitch finish. I also tried a variety of hems until I found what I liked best: wash away wonder tape and double stitching. The tape kept the fabric from stretching too much when sewing and double stitching gave it a nice finished look. Just throw it in the wash and the tape is gone and the finished hem has room to stretch when putting on/taking off the shirt. I had a lot of fun making this shirt!
