My handbag hit the dust unexpectedly this week so bring on some selfish sewing to make a new one :)
The bag is made out a silk kimono obi that I have had for over 10 years just waiting for the right project. The vegan leather trims are from a waste reuse centre and all the hardware was upcycled from my old handbag.
I heavily modified the pattern to fit the width of the obi and to let the beautiful silk stitching shine.
Internally, I added a water bottle holder and a key clip in addition to the pockets on the pattern and they work a treat.
