Natalie top in Chambray
This was my first Natalie top and after I made it, I didn't wear it for a long time. I wasn't sure how I felt about it and I was about to give up on the pattern. First, I made the shirt a medium because the chambray didn't have any stretch. This was good for the sleeves, which were almost too tight when buttoned up, but bad for the body, which made the whole shirt look overly boxy. Second, I felt like the shirt stopped at a weird point. In the pattern as is, it hit me right at the hips and made my hips look wider. Not a super flattering look. I took it back to the sewing machine and reduced the boxiness by adding darts and pulling in the sides a bit more. I couldn't do anything about where it hits me on the hips, but I've come to peace with it. I only wear jeans with it now. So keep that in mind if you do this shirt in a chambray - it'll turn out a bit boxy and you may need to lengthen it or make other alterations to the fit.
