First Jacket is a Morris!
Have dared for eons to sew a cropped jacket...and took the plunge with Morris! Also plunged in by using this quilted-look sweatshirt fabric from Joanns...which had s-t-r-e-t-c-h that I did not consider—was bent on making this jacket with this fabric;)
On this first go-around, wanted to make something unlined but could still hold up to fairly crisp shaping. Played with the collar sweep to look best on my “frame” given the softness of the fabric and adjusted the points position on the bottom front. Also wanted a closure rather than hanging open. I have a sloped back — dangling fabric in the front just emphasizes that issue so wanted to counter the appearance poor posture. Creating/inserting thin shoulder shaping helped as well.
I was surprised to get tons of compliments...just starting to wear my creations in public:)
Loved the pattern of all the cropped offerings when I shopped — and love it more now! Going to set the pattern w/adjustments in stone and make some more “Morrisses”
