This was my second Coastal Breeze. I thought it would be more a breeze, :), because I already had one under my belt. But this one took a few wrong turns. I only get to sew a little bit after my one-year old goes to sleep, so it take me a while from start to finish. I made some tweaks to the pattern, lengthening the body and raising the neck, after making my first one and decided to do pleats on the top as well. I must have been having a really off night because I measured and did all the pleats one night and when I came back the next night to sew the bottom part everything was off and crooked! So I had to completely cut out the center band and redo everything! I had quite a lot of extra fabric on the bottom so I measured and then trimmed the excess. Another snafu, now it was way too short! I love mustard so thought it would be super cute to add a mustard band. After ordering 3 different "mustards" I decided it just wasn't going to work. I finally stumbled on this warm grey that was perfect and could finally finish my creation.
I got a chance to debut my dress at a concert on vacation with my husband. I felt so proud to be wearing it out!
