Alberta Street Pencil Skirt in gray-blue stretch denim
This is my fifth time making the Alberta Street Pencil Skirt, including an initial muslin. Each time I make it, I like it better because I improve the fit. This was my first time sewing the skirt with all of the pattern elements included -- pockets, back zipper, and yoke waistband. I had some issues with getting the waistband to fit properly, but I think I know what I can do next time to improve it.
I love this skirt, and would highly recommend the pattern! I always sew it one size larger than my measurements indicate (and sew the back and side seams with a 1/4 inch seam allowance rather than 5/8 inch seam allowance), so that it is not too tight. I also add several inches of length so that it falls below my knees even when sitting.
