Introducing the 2016 Winter Collection + Fabric Batch
It’s here folks: the 2016 Winter Collection has arrived! This collection launch is our biggest production yet and we're SO excited to show you what we've been working on. This season we're bringing you a brand new pattern format and five ideal fabrics for the patterns in this bundle.
The 2016 Winter Collection is cozy, comfortable and suitable for every body type. Once again, we’ve chosen sewing patterns that are suitable for a wide size range. All five patterns in this collection can accommodate up to a 43” bust and a 45” hip.
Many nights spent learning Adobe Illustrator and four days frolicking in the LA fashion district have resulted in a curated collection of sewing patterns and fabric that I can't quit staring at. But let’s not waste any more time, let’s see what all the excitement is about.
THE PATTERN PLAYERS
The Mila Shirt
A brand new pattern by Itch to Stitch, the Mila Shirt is a loose woven blouse with button-down placket, optional sleeve tabs and pocket, and two collar options. This Indiesew exclusive sewing pattern has separate pattern pieces for A through DD cup sizes!
Our Mila Shirt is sewn up our Sapphire Blue Rayon Challis that features a lovely architectural motif. We sewed the stand collar and sleeve tabs for a relaxed-fit blouse that can be dressed up or down.
If you haven’t heard of the Bethioua raglan by German designer Elle Puls, you’ve been missing out. This knit raglan top has a relaxed fit, curved back yoke, shoulder darts (best feature ever), and bat-wing sleeves.
The Bethioua shown above is sewn in our soft and cozy Pumpkin Striped French Terry. This pattern provides the opportunity for some fun chevron stripe matching at the center back of the yoke.
The Dropje Vest
The Dropje Vest by Waffle Patterns is a hooded vest with a center front zipper, neckline darts, and front pockets. This pattern is impeccably drafted and a blast to sew.
Our Dropje Vest shown above was quilted using an easy method I’ll be blogging about later this week! Sewn up in our Grey and White Chenille Tweed and lined with our Black Polka Dot Rayon Challis, this vest feels as luxurious as it looks.
The Syrah Skirt
A great standby pattern by Baste + Gather, the Syrah Skirt is a knit skirt with three length options, four waistband options and a built-in slip. Don’t let the simple design of this skirt fool you; it’s pure heaven to wear because it’s lined!
Our Syrah Skirt was sewn in a sold-out bamboo lycra from The Fabric Fairy, similar fabrics can found here. I sewed the flat waistband skirt for a cozy winter skirt that looks great with a slouchy sweater.
The Rosaline by KZJO’STUDIO is a knit dress or tee with four sleeve length options and two neckline options. This pattern provides 24 possible garments variations!
The Rosaline shown above is sewn in our Grey and Cream Reversible Knit for a warm dress that can be worn with tights or leggings. This double-knit fabric is two-sided and is incredibly soft to the touch.
As always, there are some major savings up for grabs with the Winter Collection bundles. Once again we’re offering two options (full or mini collection). And this time, we’re giving you a paper pattern option! More on that below.
The Mini Winter Collection bundle includes the Mila Shirt, the Bethioua and the Dropje Hooded Vest. This digital pattern bundle is priced at $27, a savings of nearly 16% over the individually priced patterns.
Or, go all out and purchase the Full Winter Collection bundle, which includes all five sewing patterns shown above. This digital pattern bundle is priced at $43, a savings of nearly 22% over the individually priced patterns.
But we’re offering an even sweeter deal! The first 25 people to purchase either the Full or Mini 2016 Winter Collection will receive an extra 10% off the bundle price. Use coupon code WINTER16 at checkout to receive the discount. This coupon code likely won’t last longer than today, so hurry!
BRAND NEW: PAPER PATTERN Option!
You asked, we listened! Many of you have wanted to purchase our past collections, but just aren’t excited about printing and taping patterns together. So we are offering this collection in a paper pattern format!
The Digital Pattern + Paper Pattern Pieces option offers the savings of the bundles with the convenience of paper patterns. When choosing this option you’ll receive large pages (36" wide by 48" tall) of the full or mini collection pattern pieces. Each page will have a full color sticker with a photo of the pattern so that you can tell which pattern is which when rolled up.
The patterns also include size charts, fabric requirements and finished garment measurements printed on the pattern for your convenience. The pattern pages will be rolled up and shipped to you in a long USPS Priority Mail box so you don’t have to deal with annoying paper creases!
When you choose the paper pattern option, you’ll also receive the full PDF pattern with tiled pages via email. These files will contain the instructions you’ll use for cutting out and sewing your patterns. This is an incredible deal for both a digital and paper sewing pattern!
The Full Winter Collection paper pattern bundle is priced at $80 and the Mini Winter Collection paper pattern bundle is priced at $50. But hurry, our paper pattern inventory is extremely limited with no guarantee of re-printing, so grab your copy today!
WINTer collection FABRIC BATCH
We traveled to the Los Angeles Fashion District in September with the express purpose of sourcing fabrics for this collection and we came back with a ton of options for cozy winter garments. A sneak peek of the Winter Collection Fabric Batch was shown above on each Winter Collection garment. Now’s your chance to grab your yardage.
Per usual, this fabric is overstock (excess fabric from domestic designers) and our inventory is extremely limited. Get yours in the Indiesew Fabric Shop today!
Winter Collection Blog Tour
Perhaps the most exciting part of the 2016 Winter Collection is this season’s blog tour. For the first time ever, we get to see how all five designers of these sewing patterns interpret the collection for their own wardrobe. Check out the schedule below and be sure to visit each designer’s blog to get a fresh perspective on the collection.
Stay tuned folks! So much more winter goodness is coming your way!
