Indiesew Pattern Additions: July 2016

By Aimee Elise

I’m Aimee. When I’m not sitting at my sewing machine, I’m most likely working as a microbiologist. I enjoy reading, outdoor adventures, and saying yes to amazing experiences.

New Pattern Additions: July 2016 |

July for me was packed full. A backpacking trip, a trip home, and a birthday celebration made the month fly by. I’m guessing many of you all feel similarly. It seems August will go just as quickly with “back to school” dates looming right around the corner, fall sewing plans in the works, and the desire to squeeze in one last summer trip.

Here are the seven new patterns we added to the Indiesew Pattern Shop through the month of July:

Colfax Dress by True Bias

Colfax Dress Sewing Pattern | True Bias

The Colfax is the second dress pattern released by Kelli from True Bias. The A-line shape makes this shift dress a nice addition to any summer wardrobe and it transitions well between a day at the pool and a dinner out. It has bust darts for shaping and a geometric yoke perfect for contrasting fabric. Two different views provide options like in-seam pockets, an invisible hem, and visible bindings.

This dress is great sewn up in any print or solid fabric but especially suited towards geometric or border print fabrics. Ours is sewn in our Blue Waves Silk Twill (small remnant left!).

Grainline Studio’s Maritime Shorts

Maritime Shorts by Grainline Studio | Indiesew

The Maritime Shorts are designed to be a modern and straightforward shorts pattern. They include front and back pockets, a fly front closure, and buttoned waistband. While meant to be sewn up in denim, they also look great in any medium-weight woven fabric.

Fancy Tiger Patterns

Two new patterns from Fancy Tiger Crafts made it to the shop this month!

Fancy Tiger Wanderlust Tee

The Wanderlust Tee is an A-line boxy knit t-shirt that fits close through the shoulders while hanging loose at the waist. This slightly cropped t-shirt has a breast pocket and dropped shoulders. We sewed this one in our Auburn Heathered Rayon Jersey.

Fancy Tiger Adventure Tank

The Adventure Tank is a simple knit tank top that can be sewn up as a racerback tank or as a muscle tee. Both versions are slightly cropped and feature a double line of stitching around the hem, armscye, and neckline for a clean finish. This one is sewn in our Blue and Teal Striped Jersey.

Liola Patterns' Madison Dress

Madison Dress Sewing Pattern by Liola

The Madison Dress is a fit-and-flare dress with two skirt variations and an option to make a peplum top. The bodice in all views has a raised neckline, shoulder panels, and wide cap shoulder sleeves. The skirt can be sewn with pleats or gathers..

Hey June’s Santa Fe Top

Santa Fe Top by Hey June | Indiesew

Hey June’s newest Indiesew pattern addition is the Santa Fe Top. This loose fitting swing tank has three sleeve options: narrow tank top, traditional sleeveless, and a dolman-style cuffed sleeve. Additionally, the top has an optional center front and back seam or side insets. Our Santa Fe is sewn in our Blue and White Mini Stripe and Black jersey fabrics.

Ailakki Cross Front Jumpsuit

Ailakki Jumpsuit | Named Clothing

The Ailakki Jumpsuit by Named Clothing has a fitted bodice with pockets and looser fitting carrot leg trousers. The front bodice straps cross in front, leaving a small keyhole opening. The straps wrap around to the back for a V-neck finish. Front pleats and back darts help give the trousers shape while the exposed zipper at the back provides a nice contrast detail.

That wraps up this edition of Indiesew Pattern Addition post. Hopefully you’ve seen something new or maybe a pattern that you’d forgotten about.
