Indiesew Pattern Additions: August 2016

By Aimee Elise

I’m Aimee. When I’m not sitting at my sewing machine, I’m most likely working as a microbiologist. I enjoy reading, outdoor adventures, and saying yes to amazing experiences.

Indiesew | August 2016 Pattern Additions

And just like that, we are well on our way into the second week of September! For many people, the first few weeks of school are underway. Life is transitioning into the more regular pace of fall. For us, August was fast-paced and constantly busy. In fact, we added eleven patterns to the shop last month!

Here they are:

Megan Nielsen Patterns

Sudley Sewing Pattern | Megan Nielsen

Sudley is a blouse or gathered waist dress with a keyhole cutout. Sleeve and neckline options provide endless versatility. This garment can also be reversed so the keyhole cutout is worn in the back.

Axel Sewing Pattern | Megan Nielsen

Axel is a fitted knit skirt with three variations: midi length with a handkerchief hem, knee length with waist sashes, and midi length with a slit.

Reef Sewing Pattern | Megan Nielsen

Reef is a camisole and shorts set that can be worn as pajamas, loungewear, or separately depending on your fabric choice. The camisole top has a V-neckline and a crossover yoke in the back. Elastic waist shorts with two different hemlines are also included. We sewed our Reef set in our Snack Time Blue Rayon fabric.

Lottie Sewing Pattern | Christine Haynes

Lottie has three views: a hip-length shirt with dolman sleeves, an above-the-knee dress with short or ¾ length sleeves, and a sleeveless maxi dress. Side vents and patch pockets are included and can be interchanged between the different views to create 18 separate garments. We sewed our Lottie in our Striped Rayon Denim Shirting fabric.

Rose City Halter Dress

The Chi-Town Chinos are from a new-to-us designer, Alina Design Co. This pattern includes a mid-rise easy fitting short and skirt pattern. Both versions feature side pockets with facings, a faced waistband, and optional back pockets.

Blouse 1105

Blouse 1105 | Sewing Pattern by Dressy Talk

Blouse 1105 by Dressy Talk Patterns is a woven blouse with cap sleeves and bust darts. A hi-low hem with side slits and bottom panels provide a clean finish.

Parkside Shorts and Skirt

Parkside Shorts and Skirt | Sewing Pattern by Sew CarolineThe Parkside Shorts and Skirt by Sew Caroline is a two-in-one casual design. Both the skirt and shorts have roomy pockets and a gathered elastic waistband. The skirt hits above the knee and the shorts have a 3.5-inch inseam and include instructions for lengthening. This bright fabric will be available for purchase later this week!

Willow Tank and Dress

Willow Tank and Dress | Sewing Pattern by Grainline

The Willow Tank and Dress by Grainline Studio is a relaxed-fit tank top that can also be made into a dress. It's fitted through shoulders and with an A-line shape below the bust. Bust darts help give this woven garment shape. The tank top has a wide hem and the dress features a unique waist pleat.

Hunter Tank

Hunter Tank Sewing Pattern | Jennifer Lauren Handmade

The Hunter Tank by Jennifer Lauren Vintage is a bias-cut, cropped tank top. Two views provide different strap widths and pocket options. The tie-waist allows the tank top to sit at the natural waist, making this a perfect pairing with high-waisted jeans and skirts.

Matilda Shorts

Matilda Shorts Sewing Pattern | Liola Patterns

The Matilda Shorts from Liola Patterns are mid-rise shorts with a wide leg. Front dart pleats create structure and side pockets can be used to slip in a piece of contrasting fabric. The pattern includes an optional lining that can be used for lightweight fabrics.

We’ll be back next month with the September additions. Happy Sewing!
